Welcome to Story & Ink. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and the purchase of products from Story & Ink. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or purchase our products.

Throughout this website, the terms "we," "us," and "our" refer to Story & Ink.
By visiting our website and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our service and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, including any additional policies referenced herein.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time by posting changes on this page. Continued use of the website following any updates constitutes acceptance of those changes.
2. Personalized Products
Story & Ink creates personalized greeting cards based on the photos, names, messages, and other information provided by customers.
Because every item is custom-made:
- Customers are responsible for uploading clear, high-quality photos.
- We cannot guarantee results from blurry, dark, cropped, heavily filtered, or low-resolution images.
- We reserve the right to request a different photo if the submitted image is unsuitable for creating quality artwork.
3. Artistic Style
Our products are created in Story & Ink's signature illustrated style using digital illustration technology and artistic refinement.
While we strive to preserve each person's unique facial features, expressions, and likeness, every illustration is an artistic interpretation and is not intended to be an exact photographic reproduction.
Unless otherwise stated, backgrounds from submitted photos are not recreated.
4. Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted with their order is accurate, including:
- Uploaded photos
- Names
- Custom messages
- Shipping address
- Contact information
Story & Ink is not responsible for delays, printing errors, or delivery issues resulting from inaccurate information provided by the customer.
5. Order Changes & Cancellations
Because personalized orders begin production shortly after purchase:
- Requests to modify or cancel an order must be submitted within 2 hours of purchase.
- Once artwork production or printing has begun, changes or cancellations cannot be guaranteed.
If you need assistance, please contact us as soon as possible.
6. Proofs
Unless specifically stated on the product page, digital proofs are not provided before production.
7. Returns & Refunds
Due to the personalized nature of our products, all sales are final.
We do not accept returns or exchanges for:
- Change of mind
- Customer-provided spelling errors
- Incorrect uploaded photos
- Incorrect shipping information
- Personal preference regarding the illustration style
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement or refund at our discretion.
8. Shipping
Estimated production and shipping times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Story & Ink is not responsible for shipping delays caused by:
- USPS
- UPS
- Weather
- Holidays
- Carrier delays
- Events beyond our reasonable control
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
Additional shipping charges may apply if a package must be reshipped due to an incorrect address provided by the customer.
9. Intellectual Property
All artwork, illustrations, designs, logos, branding, product photography, website content, graphics, and other materials displayed on this website are the property of Story & Ink and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, or used without prior written permission.
10. Customer Content
By submitting photos, names, messages, and other content to Story & Ink, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the content or have permission to use it.
- The content does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
- You have the authority to authorize Story & Ink to create personalized artwork using the submitted content.
You grant Story & Ink a limited, non-exclusive license to use your submitted content solely for the purpose of designing, producing, and fulfilling your personalized order.
11. Marketing & Promotional Use
We love showcasing examples of our work to inspire future customers.
Unless you choose to opt out during checkout, you grant Story & Ink permission to use photographs or digital images of your completed card, including the finished illustration and product, for marketing and promotional purposes. This may include use on our website, social media accounts, advertisements, email marketing, printed promotional materials, and other promotional channels.
Whenever reasonably possible, we may crop, blur, or omit personal information such as names or custom messages before sharing customer orders.
If you select the marketing opt-out option during checkout, Story & Ink will not use your completed card or illustration for promotional purposes.
Story & Ink will never sell your uploaded photos or personal information to third parties.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Story & Ink shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of our website or products.
Our total liability for any claim relating to an order shall not exceed the amount paid for that order.
13. Pricing
All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD).
Prices, promotions, and product availability are subject to change without notice.
Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to completed purchases.
14. Privacy
Your use of our website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
